UNIFEM - From President Cheong

I would like to introduce you to UNIFEM Moneysend, a project initiated by UNIFEM Singapore. UNIFEM SIngapore is in collaboration with DBS and Master Card for this project and are aiming this project towards Filipino overseas workers who remit money to their home country, This project is, in essence a service that allows migrants to remit money to their home countries, safely and at low cost (from $1 per transaction).

This encourages both the sender and receiver to save money in a safe place, At the same time, UNIFEM will encourage productive and informed financial decisions for both the sender and receiver. Benefits for each person that signs up for the program are: 1.Free fianancial talks and workshops are provised by ipac and ASKI Global. 2.For each transaction with MoneySend until October 2010, UNIFEM will donate a minium of SGD3.00 for programs to alleviate and asist migrant workers in Singapore and to uplift communities in the Philippines.

From October 2010 onwards, a minium of SGD1.00 for each transaction will be donated by UNIFEM. With 1/5th Filipinos in the Philippines receive benifit from remittances and 150,000 Filipinos working in Singapore, the potential for development of communities in the Philippines from Singapore in huge with the help of informed financial choices.
