The Kuala Lumpur's Trip summarised by President Cheong Hai Poh

It has been a successful trip with fruitful discussion with our counterpart, Malaysian Food & Beverage Executives Association (MFBEA) and associate across the causeway. Some of the pending proposals are:

1) FBMA Singapore and The Malaysian Food & Beverage Executives Association (MFBEA) will arrange the signing of MOU between the two to promote the hospitality industry in both countries (Singapore & Malaysia)

2) Both FBMA and MFBEA will assist in setting up a new Association - Malaysia Bartenders' Association which will fall under the umberlla of the International Bartenders' Association (IBA). For this initiative, IBA President, Mr Derrick Lee, will liaise with the President of the MFBEA, Mr Hisham, to set of the Malaysia Bartenders' Association within the next 3 months.

It was an opportunity to see new F&B concepts and ideas as well as business opportunities in KL. The visitation of the 3 hotels namely, Westin KL, Hilton KL and Ritz-Carlton, has also given us an in-depth view of luxury brand vs trendy and contemporary brand. A BIG THANK YOU to our following counterparts:

CARLSBERG - for being a wonderful travel companion and excellent co-ordination of the various logistics for the visitation to the brewery plant. The visit to Carlsberg brewery plant has definitely enlightened us on their company's culture in Malaysia and Singapore.

WINTERHALTER - for their wonderful presentation on the latest designs and models of dishwashing equipment. Also, for their warm hospitality extended throughout our visit at their showroom in Malaysia.

STARHILL GALLERY, KUALA LUMPUR - for hosting us for a site inspection at their upmarket restaurant & sharing with us the F&B concepts in KL.

WORLD ASIA PUBLISHING - for their wonderful co-ordination of the trip's itinerary and also for providing that important industrial link between Singapore and Malaysia through their Hospitality Asia publication.

Many thanks for your excellent work and for being such gracious hosts!  You have given us one of the most positive professional experiences! We enjoyed ourselves and the photos are testimonial to my claim!

A note from Vice President, Lens Gwee

I would like to thank all of you for making this Kuala Lumpur’s trips a Great Experience. It was certainly an Honor to have spent those 3 days with such a Wonderful Group of Professionals/Friends. This trip would not have been such a success without your Company, Jokes, Friendship, Common Interest, Understanding, Teamwork, and Team Spirit. I would definitely be a member of this Group should there be another trip organized in the near future.

'3 Cheers to all of you and have a Smashing Weekend!'
